Darien Marie

For those of you who know me, you know that my life has been filled with crazy stories and adventures. Most of these stories begin with an initial desire to seek after Jesus and what He is calling me to. Currently, that looks like Nepal! Sunflowers are probably my favorite flower. (Used to be tiger lilies!) But the reason I love them so much is because they spend their whole lives, every minute of every day, seeking out the sun. They are well-rooted and they stand tall. They are bright and cheerful and bring color to the world. And even in their death, they produce seeds that can be used to nourish the body or to multiply the plant.

Essentially, sunflowers are everything I aim to be in life. Constantly seeking after the light of the Son being well rooted and standing unashamed with my head held high. To brighten and bring joy to the world around me. And even upon my death, I hope to have lived a life that continues to encourage and build up those who knew me and to leave behind seeds of truth that multiply into other strong, vibrant, sun-seeking flowers.
